Summary
Seasoned full-stack engineer with 15 years of experience building user-facing products at mission-driven organizations. I do my best work on projects that improve people's lives. Strong foundation in systems design and algorithm analysis, with a bias toward shipping usable, well-crafted software. Experienced with both 0-to-1 product development and scaling existing systems.
Skills
Full-stack development and technical leadership across web, mobile, and backend systems.
Technologies include Go, Python, Rust, Kotlin, TypeScript, React, Java, C++, SQL, gRPC, PostgreSQL, Kafka.
Key Accomplishments
Powering Microfinance at Scale: Auto-Lending & $5 Notes
Co-owned the launch of Kiva's Auto-Lending engine, which facilitated $25MM of loans generating $1.5MM in annual revenue in its first year alone. This foundation enabled the $5 Notes migration, a system-wide effort that lowered the minimum loan from $25 to $5 and expanded access to microfinance globally.
Millions of Events, One Triage Tool
Designed and built a generic event triage tool for Waymo, processing millions of driving events per week, and replacing 4 bespoke tools and unifying UX for engineers measuring Self-Driving System performance.
Backend Platform for a Privacy-First Mobile Wallet
Led the backend services powering Moby, Sentz's flagship wallet app, i.e. all backend services beyond the core blockchain. Owned multiple services end-to-end, including taking one from PoC to production with CI, rate limiting, observability, and partner integrations.
Cross-Platform Code at Google Scale
Shipped code running in production across Google Search apps on Android, iOS, Windows Phone, and Windows 8+, as well as the Google Search backends, serving billions of queries daily across every major platform.
Scaling Traffic Enforcement Infrastructure
Designed and shipped an event pipeline orchestrator for HaydenAI's cloud services, consolidating fragmented dispatching into a robust, observable and configurable pipeline. Also led a multi-engineer effort to decouple fleets from violation processors, requiring surgical changes across all services, which expanded real-world modeling capability and helped land a new client.
